'psql.exe' is not Recognized as an Internal or External Command, Operable Program or Batch File
Symptoms
During the import into the PostgreSQL database when the objects or data are loaded the following message arises: “'psql.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file”.
Causes
- System is unable to find the psql.exe tool, because the path to this tool is not specified in the system environment variable PATH
- PostgreSQL Database client not installed on your PC
Solutions
- If the cause of the error is in system environment variable PATH, then please specify the full path to the bin directory in the PostgreSQL installation folder, where this tool resides. The full path is specified on the “Target Options” page in SQLWays Wizard (like the one that is highlighted in the picture below).
- If the client is not installed on your PC, please run the installation of the server but exclude all the options except for the psql as it is shown in the picture below.
