Ispirer Migration and Modernization Toolkit Description
Ispirer Migration and Modernization Toolkit was designed to simplify database and application migration. This toolkit consists of 3 tools:
- Ispirer Migration Studio
- Ispirer Migration Commander
Ispirer SQLWays Wizard is the main tool, which is used for database migration purposes. The tool is able to connect to a source database on a local server as well as on a remote server, using an ODBC connection.
The whole migration process is performed in two steps: Сonversion and Import. The first step is Conversion. During the Conversion stage the tool connects to a source database with an ODBC connection, extracts all the required information about the objects that were specified for the Conversion process and converts them. The converted SQL code is stored in the SQL files on the local machine, where the Wizard is running.
And the second step is Import. During an Import stage SQLWays Wizard connects to a target database using target database client and its command line native utilities (psql.exe, mysql.exe, sqlcmd.exe, sqlplus.exe and others). Using these native utilities it loads all the converted SQL code and extracted data into the target database.
